The evobrutinib DSA campaign showcases unique stories that depict patients whose abilities are beginning to unravel, using threads to illustrate how smouldering MS can subtly affect patient abilities similar to how the unravelling of a sweater/jumper begins with a single thread out of place.
Traditionally, physicians have assessed MS in terms of relapse and certain visible lesions on MRI scans. Yet, some patients gradually lose the ability to perform daily activities despite their MS appearing stable by those traditional measures. The failure of relapse-preventing drugs to stop the accumulation of disability has spurred interest in “smoldering MS,” chronic inflammation in the central nervous system.
Painting the town: Unravel Campaign takes over ECTRIMS 2023
Aligned with the objectives of the Unravel Smouldering MS campaign, our ECTRIMS congress strategy was to establish the unmet need to address both peripherally initiated and CNS-compartmentalised neuroinflammation (smouldering MS), as both drive disability accumulation in MS. For our congress presence, we aimed to deliver a comprehensive understanding of the mechanism of disease, the impact that smouldering MS has on patients’ abilities, how to assess smouldering MS in patients, and hope for the future of MS treatment. We wanted HCPs to leave Milan understanding that smouldering MS occurs early and often and recognising that fighting MS requires more than reducing relapses.
